We have produced pioneering programs that have left a mark on Portuguese television, bringing entire families together in front of the screen with shows that had exceptional production values.
The Portuguese version of the Dutch format "Soundmixshow" brought moments of pure emotion, where the talent of young artists like Sara Tavares enchanted the audience. "Treasure Hunt" made viewers travel across Portugal with the host Catarina Furtado, as she crisscrossed the country by helicopter. With "Clue," we unraveled crimes and mysteries that kept the audience captivated. Who doesn't remember trying not to be the "Weakest Link"? This challenging game show brought tension and fun to each episode. "Dream Night" amazed viewers with Italian-style spectacles, providing unforgettable nights of entertainment. And with "Portugal’s Worst Driver," many were on the edge of their seats, fearing to encounter the skilled (or not) drivers of the show on the road.
These programs achieved high ratings and contributed to raising the standard of Portuguese television, distinguished by their production quality and innovation.
For a year, we travelled across Portugal from north to south to reveal the most beautiful and lesser-known places in the country through this game of clues. In an era when drones were still science fiction, we showcased the aerial beauty of Portugal to the Portuguese for the first time. Through the eyes of the host, Catarina Furtado, we invited the audience to join us on a journey to explore castles, palaces, beaches, gardens, and all the treasures worth discovering and sharing with others.
We arrived in Rome in the summer of 1995 and entered the legendary CineCittà to film the craziest television program we had ever been involved in: Luna Park. Next to Studio 5 (the iconic studio where Fellini filmed), we camped for four months, creating a busy air bridge between Lisbon and Rome to bring dozens of Portuguese contestants and artists every week. This program was a format of RAI Uno.
After our experience in Rome producing Luna Park, it was time for a team from RAI Uno to come to Portugal to coproduce Numero Uno with us, a talent show aimed at finding the best of the best in various professions.
A mix of comedy show and reality TV, "THE WORST DRIVER EVER" hosted by Portuguese comedian, Bruno Nogueira, was an adaptation of the British format "BRITAIN'S WORST DRIVER" The show brought together the 13 worst drivers in Portugal (oddly enough, all licensed) to try to train them—with some laughs along the way—and ensure that when they returned to the roads, they would be less dangerous to other drivers and, of course, to themselves!
Launched in 1999, "RI-TE, RI-TE" was the first major success of a new channel at the time, TVI. This comedy program combined jokes, candid camera and dance. With a live audience and a jury voting on the best jokes and antics brought to the stage by contestants, the show provided moments of pure entertainment and unforgettable laughter.
A comedy game show presented by José Pedro Gomes, broadcast in 1994. Two teams competed by telling jokes randomly. The audience was the jury, and for the first time in Portugal, a direct voting system was created for the stands: viewers voted "live" and the voting evolution was transmitted on a screen in the studio.
"LAUGHTER, LIES AND VIDEOTAPE" was a humour contest where three contestants competed by telling jokes. Each participant had the opportunity to showcase their comedic skills, trying to elicit laughs from the audience and impress the judges. At the end of each episode, the judges would vote and decide which contestant was the best joke-teller, crowning them the winner.
Who are the Benfica Cheerleaders? What do they do in their free time? This is the premise of this program.
"THE BIGGEST BENFICA FAN" is a quiz show dedicated to the Benfica football club. Hosted by João Malheiro, the objective of this program is to determine the ultimate Benfica supporter—the person who knows the most about their beloved club. To achieve this, contestants must overcome various challenges that test their knowledge about Benfica.
After the success of our production of the Dutch format "SOUNDMIXSHOW," we thought, why not create a program focused on discovering actors? The idea was to find new talent to perform scenes from famous movies like Top Gun, Terminator, Silence of the Lambs, as well as plays by Tennessee Williams and Shakespeare. This involved an incredible effort in building sets, designing costumes, and creating props for each of the competitors.
